Abstract

This research was conducted at the Pekanbaru State Special School. The variables in this study consist of two variables. The first variable is the independent variable namely Competence and Work Stress. The second variable is the dependent variable, namely teacher performance. The population in this study is the 2023 Pekanbaru State SLB Pembina Negeri teachers, totaling 30 teachers. The sampling technique used in this study is based on the saturated or census sampling method, where all members of the population are sampled. So that the number of samples in this study was determined by 30 respondents. The data measurement technique in this study is using a Likert scale. The Likert scale is used to measure attitudes, opinions, and perceptions of a person or group of people about social phenomena.

Based on the results of the research and discussion of the effect of competence and work stress on the performance of SLB Pembina Negeri teachers, several conclusions can be drawn as follows: Teacher competence in SLB Pembina Negeri is in good criteria. The results of this study indicate that competence has a significant effect on the performance of SLB Pembina Negeri teachers, work stress at SLB Pembina Negeri is in good criteria. The results of this study indicate that work stress has no significant effect on teacher performance at SLB Pembina Negeri. The results of this study indicate that education and training together have a significant effect on teacher performance at SLB Pembina Negeri. Based on the results of the coefficient of determination R2 in this study, it can be concluded that competence and work stress can contribute 78.
