Abstract

The research titled "Analysis of the Potential of Agribusiness Sector in Supporting Regional Development, (Case study in Palu City, Central Sulawesi Province)", aims 1) To analyze the potential of Agribusiness sector as a sector that contributes to regional development 2) To analyze the prospects for the contribution of agribusiness sector in regional development. Secondary data from the Central Statistics Agency of Palu City and Central Sulawesi Province were analyzed using Location Quotient, Dynamic Location Quotient and Typology Klassen analysis. The results showed that the LQ value of agribusiness sector in Palu City < 1 (0.14), it means that the agribusiness sector products in Palu City are Non-Base sectors, which are not able to be sufficient to meet the needs of the local community. Through the DLQ analysis, a value of 3 was obtained, if the LQ and DLQ values are juxtaposed, the criteria is able to be obtained that the agribusiness sector in Palu City is the Mainstay sector, meaning that although the agribusiness sector is currently a non-base sector, in the future the sector will be able to be developed into a base sector. This shows that the agribusiness sector in Palu City contributes sustainably to regional development. This is reinforced through the results of a typology analysis of klassen which showed the criteria for the pattern and structure of the agribusiness sector in Palu City is declared as a fast-growing sector.
