Abstract

The objective of this research is to obtain empirical proof concerning the effect of work hour and job characteristic on turnover intention with mediation of job stress. This research attempts to fill the research gap between results of previous studies that are not consistent yet to one another. Quantitative approach is used by this research. Method of analysis is descriptive statistic and inferential statistic analyses with the analytical process supported by Program Pls. Research population involves all employees of Uklamoya Tour & Travel Company which are totaling 69 persons. Sampling technique is saturated sampling or census where all employees are included. The result of this research shows that work hour and job characteristic have a positive and significant effect on turnover intention with mediation of job stress. This result contributes a new insight to the body of knowledge about job environment by revealing that work hour has a positive and significant effect on job stress and turnover intention whereas job characteristic has a negative effect on turnover intention.
