Analyzing the Impact of Transformational Leadership on Job Discipline, Quality of Work Life, and Organizational Commitment That Implicates to Nurse Performance at the Public Hospital of dr. Saiful Anwar Malang
Abstract
The objective of this research is to examine the impact of transformational leadership on job discipline, quality of work life, and organizational commitment that implicates nurse performance at the Public Hospital of dr. Saiful Anwar in Malang City. This research was conducted to fill into the research gap due to the less consistent results of previous studies. Quantitative approach was used in this research. Data were collected through questionnaire and analyzed with Partial Least Square. Sampling technique was non-probability with sampling method of proportional random sampling. Several results were obtained, respectively: transformational leadership affects job discipline, quality of work life, and organizational commitment; job discipline and quality of work life affect nurse performance; transformational leadership affects nurse performance by mediation of job discipline and quality of work life; transformational leadership does not have significant effect on nurse performance; organizational commitment does not have significant effect on nurse performance; and transformational leadership does not have significant effect on nurse performance in the mediation of organizational commitment. All these results bestow a new insight to the body of knowledge about the impact of transformational leadership on the attributes of employee performance in medical organization.
