Effect Of Quality Of Work Life And Organizational Commitment On Employee Performance Through Job Satisfaction As Intervening Variable (Study On Employees At Upt Blk Singosari And Upt Blk Wonojati In Malang Regency)
Abstract
The objective of research is to acquire empirical evidences concerning the ability of Quality of Work Life and Organizational Commitment in improving Employee Performance directly or through Job Satisfaction as intervening variable. Problems that this research attempts to answer include less number of educator or trainer at the work training centers where this research was carried out and extra work hour spent by the employees who already experience low job satisfaction while coaching numerous participants or trainees. These problems were planned to be solved through quantitative approach. Data were obtained with questionnaire handed over 65 employees at two work training centers, namely UPT BLK Singosari and UPT BLK Wonojati. Both of the work training centers were responsible to the Office of Employment for Malang Regency. The data were analyzed with Partial Least Square (PLS). The analysis gave several results, respectively: the relationship of quality of work life with either job satisfaction or employee performance is significant; the relationship between organizational commitment and job satisfaction is negative and not significant; and the relationship between organizational commitment and employee performance is also negative and not significant.
