Abstract

The DPRD is a district or city-regional people's representative institution that is domiciled as an organizing element of the district or city government. The implementation of the supervisory function by the DPRD which will be examined by researchers is related to the Bukittingi City Drainage Development process. In local regulation number 6 of 2011 article 46, the development plan for the city of Bukittinggi includes one of them, namely the drainage development system. The drainage system is intended to reduce flooding and waterlogging for residential, industrial, trade, office, and road areas. In the realization that during the drainage construction process, various problems were found, such as damage to community merchandise caused by dust from piles of project construction materials, access to some shops in the area was closed because there were excavated soil piled up by the contractor, and road damage caused by soil irritation at the project site. The approach used in this study is qualitative. The qualitative approach is a research procedure that produces descriptive data in the form of written or spoken words of people and observable behavior. The results showed that the supervision carried out by the DPRD was quite significant because the DPRD continued to monitor the movement in the drainage construction process.
