Abstract

Onrust Island is one of the ecotourism destinations based on tangiable heritage, which has a fairly high historical value. In its current management, Onrust Island has not maximized the role of the community, especially the people around Pulau Seribu and the people of DKI Jakarta to participate in tourism management. Based on this, this research specifically aims to operationally map the strengths and weaknesses as well as opportunities and obstacles in developing community-based ecotourism on Onrust Island, Seribu Islands. Meanwhile, specifically, this research aims to secure the existing tourism resources so that they can be utilized as much as possible to improve the economy and the welfare of the community. The purpose of the research is to map the internal factors in the development of marine ecotourism on Onrust Island, map the external factors in the development of marine ecotourism on Onrust Island and formulate a strategy for developing marine ecotourism on Onrus Island. The final result of the research is a series of alternative strategies in developing community-based ecotourism on Onrust Island, Kepulauan Seribu. The analytical technique used in this research is IFAS IFAS analysis and Grand Matrix analysis. To test the reliability and validity of the data generated, the researcher will involve the opinions of related experts consisting of tourism experts, tourism sector entrepreneurs and marketing experts. Research involves all components of stakeholders; tourism business managers, tourists, academics and the DKI Jakarta tourism office.
